Dr. Moisés Irizarry-Román, MD, is a renowned sports medicine physician based in South Florida. As the founder of No Mercy Sports Medicine in Miami, he has extensive experience diagnosing and treating a wide range of sports and musculoskeletal injuries, with a focus on cutting-edge, innovative solutions.
Dr. Irizarry-Román earned his medical degree from the Universidad Central del Caribe, School of Medicine in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. He completed an internship at San Juan City Hospital and a residency at Hospital Universitario Dr. Ramon Ruiz Arnau before relocating to the United States. His passion for sports medicine led him to pursue a rigorous sports medicine fellowship at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine.
A pioneering figure in the field of sports medicine and biohacking, Dr. Irizarry-Román has held the position of Head of Mercy Hospital's Sports Medicine Department in Miami and has worked with athletes of all levels. He has contributed articles to Box Life magazine and served as a consultant for Univisión's nightly news program, "Noticias Univisión Edición Nocturna," and "Mira Quién Baila." Additionally, he is an expert witness for Telemundo's "Caso Cerrado."
Affectionately known as "The BoxDoc" within the CrossFit® community, Dr. Irizarry-Román has covered numerous major CrossFit events, including Summer Crush Games and Clash of the Fittest. He is committed to serving the sports medicine community and has worked as a team sports physician for the Mississippi Braves minor league baseball team, the Dixie Rodeo, and the Puerto Rico Islanders professional soccer team, among others.
